BLAMING PAKISTAN FOR A LOST WAR

by Eric Margolis

It’s awfully hard for the world’s greatest power to admit  its high-tech military forces are being beaten in Afghanistan by a bunch of lightly-armed mountain tribesmen.

But that’s what’s happening.  Washington is  blaming everyone else for the bloody fiasco in Afghanistan, the “Graveyard of Empires.”   Right now, the chief whipping boy for US fury is Pakistan, still officially called a “ strategic US ally.”

Last  week, outgoing US chief of staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, accused Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, of being behind recent high profile attacks against US targets in Afghanistan staged  by the Haqqani network, one of Taliban’s coalition fighting foreign occupation.  The Pentagon accused the Haqqani network of being “a virtual arm” of ISI. Pakistan strongly denied US charges.

The US is reacting with blind rage rather than careful thought.  The example of the Soviet 1989 defeat in Afghanistan increasingly haunts Washington.

Ironically, as I saw myself in the 1980’s, the US created the Haqqani network, arming and funding it these “freedom fighters.”

One of the US Senate’s dimmest members, influential Republican Lindsay Graham,  threatens US attacks on Pakistan “to defend US troops” from “terrorism.”

That’s pretty rich.  The US invades a country, brands any who resist as “terrorists,” then must invade Pakistan to “protect” its invading troops.  Meanwhile, the US is paying bankrupt Pakistan $7.5 billion over five years to sustain the war in Afghanistan.

Ever since the days of George W. Bush, US policy in the Muslim world has been driven by a combination of imperial arrogance and profound ignorance.

When the US was preparing to invade Iraq in 2003, I had dinner with three of Bush’s most senior advisors.  “Tell us about Iraq, Eric,” they asked.  As I spoke of Kurds, Sunnis, assorted Shia, Yazdis, their eyes glazed over.

“Just give us the bottom line,” snapped one Alpha Republican.  “The bottom line,” I replied, “is don’t get involved in a messy country you don’t understand at all.”

Well, here we go again with Pakistan.  Hardly any senior members of the Obama administration understand complex Pakistan.

But these bulls in South Asia’s china shop are ready to charge in, heedless of the facts.

Threatening war against Pakistan, a nation of 180 million with a tough  military is the height of folly.  Pakistan controls most of the supply routes essential to US and NATO forces in Afghanistan.  Most Pakistanis now consider the US a bigger enemy than old foe India.

Even  crazier, Washington is making warlike threats against nuclear-armed Pakistan, a close ally of China, an important nuclear power.  So far, Beijing has been cautious yet firm in its support of old ally, Pakistan.

But US attacks on Pakistan that go beyond the current raids by CIA drones could draw China into a confrontation with the US.  China has quietly made clear it will not allow the US to tear apart Pakistan in order to grab Islamabad’s Chinese-aided nuclear arsenal.

More craziness. The US under both Bush and Barack Obama has been trying to get India militarily involved in Afghanistan. But the Indians were too clever to send combat troops into Afghanistan.

Washington then gave India a green light to pour intelligence agents and money into Afghanistan to support the anti-Taliban Tajik, Uzbek and Hazara minorities.  The US has greatly aided the buildup of India’s nuclear arsenal – which has only two targets, Pakistan and China.

All this, of course, has set off alarm bells in Islamabad, which sees Afghanistan as its strategic back yard.   Russia is also watching this drama with growing unease.

The strategic interests of Pakistan and the US  are different, often in conflict.  Yet the US “put a gun to our head,” in the words of a former ISI director (confirmed by former President Pervez Musharraf) and forced Pakistan to join the war against Taliban, a close Pakistani ally and strategic asset.

Why should Pakistan forsake its own strategic interests for those of the United States,  whose confused, erratic  foreign policy is largely run by domestic special interest groups?

A blow-up between Pakistan and its sometime American patron would be a calamity for all concerned.   Expanding a war into the intersection of the interests of four nuclear-armed powers is the height of irresponsibility and manic behavior.

*Why (do you think) Pakistan’s MIGHTY GENERALS of today are not worried of
any ‘fallout’ from the rhetoric of their colleagues posted at the ISI, ISPR
    etc?
Because of the simple reason the ‘Mush’ taught them to keep quiet while any
‘hullabaloo’ is going about them in the International or Pakistani print or
    electronic media.
In other words that (SOB) guy called ‘Mush’ tutored them to keep ‘mum’ or
to keep their mouths ‘shut’ & that’s what these guys are doing STILL doing
    these days.
If anybody reading these lines (here) is related to such a mighty guy, then
he can vouch for the correctness of my narration as above.!*

We can enlist the negative traits of Musharaf, such as being self-centered,myopic,overegoistic and power hungry that might have made him do what you said but let’s not go beyond that by calling any names.

International Recognition Of China’s Sovereignty over the Nansha Islands

        1. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Northern Island

        (a) China Sea Pilot compiled and printed by the Hydrography Department of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom in 1912 has accounts of the activities of the Chinese people on the Nansha Islands in a number of places.

        (b) The Far Eastern Economic Review (Hong Kong) carried an article on Dec. 31 of 1973 which quotes the British High Commissioner to Singapore as having said in 1970: “Spratly Island (Nanwei Island in Chinese) was a Chinese dependency, part of Kwangtung Province… and was returned to China after the war. We can not find any indication of its having been acquired by any other country and so can only conclude it is still held by communist China.”

        2. France

        (a) Le Monde Colonial Illustre mentioned the Nansha Islands in its September 1933 issue. According to that issue, when a French gunboat named Malicieuse surveyed the Nanwei Island of the Nansha Islands in 1930, they saw three Chinese on the island and when France invaded nine of the Nansha Islands by force in April 1933, they found all the people on the islands were Chinese, with 7 Chinese on the Nanzi Reef, 5 on the Zhongye Island, 4 on the Nanwei Island, thatched houses, water wells and holy statues left by Chinese on the Nanyue Island and a signboard with Chinese characters marking a grain storage on the Taiping Island.

        (b) Atlas International Larousse published in 1965 in France marks the Xisha, Nansha and Dongsha Islands by their Chinese names and gives clear indication of their ownership as China in brackets.

        3. Japan

        (a) Yearbook of New China published in Japan in 1966 describes the coastline of China as 11 thousand kilometers long from Liaodong Peninsula in the north to the Nansha Islands in the south, or 20 thousand kilometers if including the coastlines of all the islands along its coast;

        (b) Yearbook of the World published in Japan in 1972 says that Chinese territory includes not only the mainland, but also Hainan Island, Taiwan, Penghu Islands as well as the Dongsha, Xisha, Zhongsha and Nansha Islands on the South China Sea.

        4. The United States

        (a) Columbia Lippincott World Toponymic Dictionary published in the United States in 1961 states that the Nansha Islands on the South China Sea are part of Guangdong Province and belong to China.

        (b) The Worldmark Encyclopaedia of the Nations published in the United States in 1963 says that the islands of the People’s Republic extend southward to include those isles and coral reefs on the South China Sea at the north latitude 4°.

        (c) World Administrative Divisions Encyclopaedia published in 1971 says that the People’s Republic has a number of archipelagoes, including Hainan Island near the South China Sea, which is the largest, and a few others on the South China Sea extending to as far as the north latitude 4°, such as the Dongsha, Xisha, Zhongsha and Nansha Islands.

        5. Viet Nam

        (a) Vice Foreign Minister Dung Van Khiem of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam received Mr. Li Zhimin, charge d’affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Viet Nam and told him that “according to Vietnamese data, the Xisha and Nansha Islands are historically part of Chinese territory.” Mr. Le Doc, Acting Director of the Asian Department of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, who was present then, added that “judging from history, these islands were already part of China at the time of the Song Dynasty.”

        (b) Nhan Dan of Viet Nam reported in great detail on September 6, 1958 the Chinese Government’s Declaration of September 4, 1958 that the breadth of the territorial sea of the People’s Republic of China should be 12 nautical miles and that this provision should apply to all territories of the People’s Republic of China, including all islands on the South China Sea. On September 14 the same year, Premier Pham Van Dong of the Vietnamese Government solemnly stated in his note to Premier Zhou Enlai that Viet Nam “recognizes and supports the Declaration of the Government of the People’s Republic of China on China’s territorial sea.”

        (c) It is stated in the lesson The People’s Republic of China of a standard Vietnamese school textbook on geography published in 1974 that the islands from the Nansha and Xisha Islands to Hainan Island and Taiwan constitute a great wall for the defense of the mainland of China.

Yes, yes. Musharraf was so self-centered that he could not think of anything but remaining in power by doubling Pak GDP, Per Capita Income, tripling Foreign Exchange Earnings and breaking record of Foreign Exchange Reserves for Foreign Exchange starving Pakistan in his 7 year tenure. He must be executed for his these crimes plus saving Pak Military from US Attack.
The whole problem of Punjabistan would have been solved if he had just refused to co-operate with USA and Pakistan would have been dis-integrated 9 years ago. He must be punished for that. Punjabi Bigotry against Mohajirs ZindabaaD …!

    • S U Turkman  On November 18, 2011 at 4:32 pm

      Pastures,
Sounds like you have never worked for any Government Departments in your life because Govt. Servants are not supposed to give out their opinions on Politics. Not even C-in-C. Musharraf did not teach them. They can lose their jobs if they do that just like Gen. Karamat had. Nawaz Sharif had correctly used that law against him but Army had gotten mad at him because it had showed that he was not going to keep working as an obedient servant of Pak Military in Military Staged Democracy of Pakistan.
He was illegally dismissed by GHQ for dismissing Gen. Musharraf and replacing him. Why do we call Pakistan a Republic and Democracy if we do not believe Democratically Elected Government has all the rights guaranteed in Pak Constitution unless we are crazy Nuts, who do not understand Democracy?

        Ghasi Ram aka Turkey,
I bet you have nothing else to do but to be loyal to the job u are doing for the US agencies – and u have to be loyal to their policies and their friends – as a US citizen for whose allegiance u have sworn. Damn the mother country who fed snakes like you to keep biting her.
In one of the blogs last year I corrected u firstly for the wrong Arabic translations that you did to smear Islam and then corrected you for the lies that you perpetuate. But an old adage suffices – slightly modified – about the tail of the dog- modified to mean not that the tail did not get straightened – but instead the pipe bent. Whenever I read your comments, this strikes me which one of my professors recited last year in the MBA class.
Now listen here for good and then keep your lips tight shut thereafter.
Firstly, when u speak of 90% Punjabis in the army- then who stops the others from the entry? But people of ur ilk would not like to come as sepoys. Infact if any one applies he is always advised to apply for the officers billets. It is extremely encouraging to see Sindhis and Baluchis joining in – who prviously the nationalists would discourage, beacuse of their own nefarious designs.
You sir, unfortunately are a liar, when you say that heavy majority of Generals have Punjabi Sounding names. Since you have the list from some web, send those.underlined. Your false statement will stand exposed.

Next, the budget. Why the hell do you not open up your crystal ball and see it for your self as to what is the budget like. From 6.4% GDP in the 1990 to the present 2.4% of the GDP is the slide down. You ,sir, lie compulsively. On the contrary India has gone up from 3.4% o the present 4.6% , where as her budget is eight times ours. Then do the borders shrink to be lesser on our side and longer on theirs at the budgeted ratio??

u talk about cheap plots in DH’s. Firstly if the army fellows have made defence societies so have other departments and other private enterprises there own societies. The departments and even in case of ethnic based societies they give the plots belonging to their department/ethnic fellows only. I can name hundreds of such societies. But
proverably u want to keep ur head burried in the sand to see only what u desire. So if the DHA’s give the plots to their members according to a prescribed policy so?? Over a period the price escalates and who ever has the plot in any society depending on the creditability of the society. Bahria town is a case in point. I purchased a plot for 3 lacs in the mid ninety and sold it for close to 60 last year. So if DHA’s are running in a more organised manner that picks up. See in Lahore. Societies like the Valancia, Izmir, Wapda,
Punjab, Eden, suigas, in Islamabad Federal employees, judicial towns, PWD, In Karachi Gulshane Maymar projects , creek vista, etc. I can go on on – just to make u understand that there is a difference between the factuals and sensational. But if u are hell bent on purposely creating issues to castigate the military and the ISI then nothing will sink.
U speak of Democracy? Sir elections are no democracy – only the means to it. But if democracies mean Frankenstines like Bush and Obama to plaster innocents first making them DEMONS and then plaster the innocents with Daizzy’s or Israel on a killing spree and using the banned Phosphorous rockets, or the largest democracy in thee world ripping off 60 thousand Kashmiris , Or Sarkozy up to the neck in corruption of all sorts or near home our own hierarchy – then damn such democracy who feeds grass to the public while “Rome” burns!

All kinds of knowledgeable people are offering all sorts of analysis and explanations for the situation but why are the Pakistani rulers sitting so dumbfounded. Why don’t they open their mouths and say what needs to be said. Why the world is getting only the American side of the story? Why don’t they match their wits with their American counterparts? Can they not prove themselves worth their salt? If they can’t take the heat why don’t they get out of the kitchen, let some one else handle that job which has proved to be to complex for them. This is what happens when you have wrong people for the job. Why do they feel so intimidated by the Americans?

        Hey turkey
U have again surfaced with your CIA backed stories about Pakistan?? It is the US fellows who shake hand with the right and stab with the left. And there is a distinction between the good natured average american and the Zion influenced CIA supported US establishment.
Atomic Bomb u said? Yes I am ready. US gave aid since 1953 to woo nations into their camp rather than that of RUSSIA. This was concurrently followed by SEATO and CENTO.

USA do not fight wars to win
USA fight wars to settle economy
This article is nothing but an attempt to keep us believing that USA has lost so settling our miserably stupid ego as a Pakistani Muslimn
Just look back the corridors of history
    which war has America won
the last one was Second world war and that too after causing extensive immeasurable damage and also not because of their own heroics but because of the grave mistake Hitlor made to attack Stalin guard…

Building back Japan was a very profitable issue and it caused recovery of all the losses of the war
Than the Korean war, half won, keeping an enemy intact so south korea needing American assistence always and American assistence is never free .
    Than veitnam
today try finding out USA invested more than USSR to build veitnam back
Even the partition of India try finding the American role in keeping the thorn of Kashmir alive to keep the wheel of the ammunition factories rolling
and now this mess of Afghanistan
They hve caused enough damage in Afghanistan to stay here in non military fashion now
but they do not want Pakistan to get the share of this pay back from longstanding war
They want India to be part of this
so all this apprent nonsense about haqani network from no where
    Try to understand
we are pet of USA and USA will treat the way she wants not the way we want
so are still interested in American bone or want to live on our own .. decision is ours
donot pay heat to such articles,,, they are not written in our sympathy but are part of American plan that America has lost some war….
    just make a decision
other wise Allah will either through USA or self will intervene

Yeah, which war has USA won?

Japan had won WW II and still occupies, China, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines etc like before. Taliban had defeated USA in 2001 and Mollaa Omar is still Amirol Momineen in Afghanistan. Kuwait is still occupied by Saddam and he is still in power in Iraq.
Its all a lie that a lot of Gold was discovered in USA and it had enough money to buy Central part of present USA from Napoleon, Alaska from Czar of Russia and Philippines from King of Spain for Gold.
Its also a lie that USA had become rich because of inventing 55% of all major Inventions in 1800’s and 85% in 1900’s.
“USA fight wars to settle economy” and loots the world. Look how much USA has looted Iraq and Afghanistan …!
All are starving in Iraq and Afghanistan, right?

    • S U Turkman  On October 28, 2011 at 11:31 pm

Oh sure, USA lives off only Arms Sale and by spending money on her Military just like Pakistan has been spending half to 3/4th of her Budget on Military. There is no Industry, no Agriculture, no Technology, no Natural Resources in USA, when Pakistan has all that.
USA is not only behind Kashmir problem but also all the problems in Moslim Countries. USA had caused assassination of Hzt. Imam Hussain also.

The article explains all that. But what it does not is that the US policies are influenced by the ZIion dominated CIA, whether or not that of the interest of US herself. Pakistan must have prepared her contingencies. If Israel thinks that it will be able to bite deep into Pakistan through India or US then mistaken she is and both the countries may get wiped out with heavily bruised India – with her eventual break up totally. And then, why are you worried about killing of 35,000 Non Punjabis, the Balochis that your Army killed, the PushToons and Mohajirs as an excuse of US Army in Afghanistan, when you did not worry about 2 million East Pakistanis that your Military had killed in East Pakistan?
Would you prefer 350,000 of your Punjabi Soldiers killed by USA in bombing instead of just Economic Threats from USA and ban on Visa to Qatar etc?
What the hell USA has to do with your Visa Problem?
Don’t countries have a right to take safeguards for their Security from your JehaaDi Punjabis pouring in all the time in those countries?

They have to go collect Protection Money or BHuTTaa in Sindh, Baluchistan, PakhToon Khwah and the territories working for Police, Rangers etc. They have to go to Karachi work for PIA low paying jobs. All Pakistanis know this, sir.
Following is the list of the dead:
    .
PushToon: Civilians killed by Pak Army, Soldiers and Police 14,000
Balochis: Killed by Pak Army and the ones killed by Pak Army and JehaaDis 6,100
Northern Territories Civilians: killed by Taliban and Pak Army 1,900
Mohajirs: killed by Taliban and ISI Operatives 9.400.
Sindhis: killed by Taliban, Pak Army and Punjabi Police 600.
Punjabi: Civilians like Qadiyanis, Shiya, Christians and some others killed by Taliban, JehaaDi Groups 600.
Punjabi: Police and Armymen killed as collateral damage 2,200.
    .
You had 2,200 to go to ‘Janaazaa’ and its not surprising.

I have list of Generals. 190 some. Ethnicity of every General was not in that list but 92% sounded Punjabi Names. US Military is 1 million strong and has only 74 Generals from all services. Pak Military used to be 700,000 but now it says its only 550,000 strong and just in Land Forces it has Generals in 190’s to keep ripping poor Pakistanis off.
There is no Military in the world with better Retirement Package for Generals, Brigadiers and other Military Officers. No Defense Housing Society cheap Plants, not Servants, when even 2nd Lieutenant of Pak Army gets an Orderly to rip poor Pakistanis off.
Population Ratio of Punjabis is 44%. Why are Armed Forces 95% Punjabi, Police 90% Punjabi, Civilian Jobs in control of Government 70% Punjabi?
Pak Military has been stealing half to 3/4th of poor Pakistan’s Budget for decades on the price of Infrastructure, Health Care, Education and Social Welfare of Pakistanis.
Pakistanis do not need so expensive huge Army, Nukes, Ghori Missile and Nuclear Tipped Missiles. They need Electricity, Clean water in their Taps, a Social Welfare System, Education and Health Care and not to mention a lot of them need Bread also. This country was gotten for Pakistanis, not your Army and Ethnic Group, who was opposed to formation of Pakistan until 14th August, 1947, my lord.

If the single super power of the world and its mighty NATO allies cannot defeat a handful of stonage fighters, there is a simple message for all. Whether they believe it or not, everything is in the hands of the Supereme Power – Allah that has all the controls. History tells us how very powerful empires fell down. Uunfortunately the US has fallen prey of the dictates of the Zionists who are using the Super Power for their own benefit. But u woldn’t believe because everything – the media, the finances, the technology … is in the hands of jews who have betrayed the Prophets…. what is the US?

      Mr. Khalid,
Armies are made to fight Sneak Attack Terrorists. Taliban kill ratio has been 20 Moslims in Pakistan and Afghanistan to One Foreign Soldier in Afghanistan. Should not it be priority of Pak Military to defeat them at least in Pakistan instead of letting them kill 200 to 400 of us every month for the last few years?
How come 700,000 strong Pak Military has failed to control a couple of thousand Taliban and other JehaaDi Groups for last ten years and you expect a lot less than that Soldiers of USA in Afghanistan to control kill them all without any Collateral Damage?
Can Police of any country in the world guarantee there would be no Murder?
There is no Terrorist Group like Taliban that can last 10 years without any financing, Weapons Supply like Taliban have. It proves, Pak Army is behind them and USA can solve her this problem if their mother, Pak Military is bombed to stone age. Pak Military thinks, USA may tell India to attack it or India may take advantage of this. This is the reason, Pak Military has granted Most Favored Nation in trade status to India immediately. “MerTaa kiyaa naa kerTaa”.
Army Generals themselves are tired of GHQ’s stupid JehaaDi policies that has made even fastest friend of Pakistan, China to back out from backing it in its JehaaDi Agenda. This will soon cause replacement of Gen. Keyani and other Generals running Pakistan. Just watch …!

I am reproducing here Mr. Malik’s diatribe and inserting my comments where needed below:
    .
    Ghasi Ram aka Turkey,
    .
TURKMAN: Calling Names is prohibited by Allah in Qoraan. I don’t know, why you continue doing this and still call yourself a Moslim despite being informed about it, sir.
    ———–
I bet you have nothing else to do but to be loyal to the job u are doing for the US agencies – and u have to be loyal to their policies and their friends – as a US citizen for whose allegiance u have sworn. Damn the mother country who fed snakes like you to keep biting her.
    .
TURKMAN: I have criticized Bush on Iraq Invasion, not trying hard enough to resolve Palestinian Issue, on bombing of Libya and bad Economic Policies. It proves, Its enough evidence that I do not work for any US Agency.
    ———–
In one of the blogs last year I corrected u firstly for the wrong Arabic translations that you did to smear Islam and then corrected you for the lies that you perpetuate.
    .
TURKMAN: I have no idea, what the hell are you talking about.
    ———-
But an old adage suffices – slightly modified – about the tail of the dog- modified to mean not that the tail did not get straightened – but instead the pipe bent. Whenever I read your comments, this strikes me which one of my professors recited last year in the MBA class.
Now listen here for good and then keep your lips tight shut thereafter.
Firstly, when u speak of 90% Punjabis in the army- then who stops the others from the entry?
    .
TURKMAN: The Prejudice of Punjabis, who want to keep Non Punjabis out of Military, Police, Civil Jobs, Jobs in Govt. Owned Industries and Institutions. There is no country in the world, where this is done except in Pakistan. We Punjabis have made Pakistan become a kind of Apartheid Country by doing this.
    ———
But people of ur ilk would not like to come as sepoys. Infact if any one applies he is always advised to apply for the officers billets. It is extremely encouraging to see Sindhis and Baluchis joining in – who prviously the nationalists would discourage, beacuse of their own nefarious designs.
    .
TURKMAN: It is extremely encouraging that after I started writing against this injustice with 56% of Non Punjabi Pakistanis, Military had started hiring some Non Punjabis also despite lie that they do not want to join.
    ———-
You sir, unfortunately are a liar, when you say that heavy majority of Generals have Punjabi Sounding names. Since you have the list from some web, send those.underlined. Your false statement will stand exposed.
    .
TURKMAN: I can start posting that list and let the readers decide for themselves if I am lying or not.
    ———-
Next, the budget. Why the hell do you not open up your crystal ball and see it for your self as to what is the budget like. From 6.4% GDP in the 1990 to the present 2.4% of the GDP is the slide down.
    .
TURKMAN: I have no idea, what the hell are you talking about. Budget of Pakistan is usually 18 to 20% of GDP estimate because nobody really knows, what GDP is supposed to be. Its not 2.4% of GDP.
    ————-
You ,sir, lie compulsively. On the contrary India has gone up from 3.4% o the present 4.6% , where as her budget is eight times ours. Then do the borders shrink to be lesser on our side and longer on theirs at the budgeted ratio??
    .
TURKMAN: India never had her Defense Budget as high as half to 3/4th of total Budget like Pakistan’s has been for more than half a century.
    ———-
u talk about cheap plots in DH’s.
But if u are hell bent on purposely creating issues to castigate the military and the ISI then nothing will sink.
    .
TURKMAN: There is no way anybody else can get any Plots in any Societies as easily and as cheap as Military Personnel can. If it was not true, all others would have gotten them too. Besides this, tell me, Military Retirement Package of which country in this world awards 70,000 acre land to Brigadier and 140,000 to 200,000 acre land to a General? How come no Military Officers are less than Millioniares after they retire?
    ———
U speak of Democracy? Sir elections are no democracy – only the means to it. But if democracies mean Frankenstines like Bush and Obama to plaster innocents first making them DEMONS and then plaster the innocents with Daizzy’s or Israel on a killing spree and using the banned Phosphorous rockets, or the largest democracy in thee world ripping off 60 thousand Kashmiris , Or Sarkozy up to the neck in corruption of all sorts or near home our own hierarchy – then damn such democracy who feeds grass to the public while “Rome” burns!
    .
TURKMAN: Tell this to Americans and others in the West this. Tell them Caliphate is a better system …!
